Job summary

NVIDIA is seeking a seasoned software leader to join our autonomous driving efforts in California. You will collaborate with OEM partners to lead end-to-end platform integration and drive the architecture of vehicle and sensor abstraction layers, bridging software with real-world hardware.

You will build scalable software for real-time autonomy, manage VAL/SAL teams, and deliver high-performance C++ solutions with CUDA, while upholding MISRA and automotive-grade practices.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Computer Engineering, CS, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 15+ years of industry experience with 8+ years in people management.
• Expert C and C++ programming skills.
• Experience with multithreaded/distributed applications.
• Strong Linux (and RTOS) experience.
• Familiarity with ROS or GStreamer.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Self-motivated, team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end platform integration with OEM partners.
• Head the Vehicle Adaptation Layer (VAL) and Sensor Adaptation Layer (SAL) teams, designing software abstractions and plug-in frameworks.
• Build scalable mechanisms to improve software integration across diverse vehicles and sensors.
• Validate improvements through real-world and synthetic testing to boost performance.
• Conduct in-vehicle tests and analyze sensor/vehicle data.
• Develop unit tests and documentation; ensure software quality per industry practices.
• Write efficient production-grade C++ with CUDA for acceleration.
• Follow MISRA and automotive-grade software development practices.
