Job summary

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking an engineering leader to serve as Director, Automation within the Yield Management team. The role focuses on building systems, workflows, dashboards, and AI-enabled tools to make yield engineering work more predictable and visible.

The leader will automate governance, create operating rhythms, and foster a connected, standards-based team culture across distributed sites, enabling scalable automation across the silicon lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 8+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
• Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 7+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
• PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
• Automation leadership: proven experience building or scaling automation platforms and AI-enabled workflows.
• Software and data depth: Python, databases, distributed compute, APIs, CI/CD, data modeling, visualization, maintainable software.

Responsibilities

• Governance Automation and Operating Discipline: Build and automate governance processes with planning, intake, prioritization, roadmap tracking, reviews, lessons learned, CAPA, dashboards, and status reporting.
• Automation Strategy and Roadmap: Define and execute the automation roadmap for yield management, diagnostics, analytics, engineering operations, and reporting.
• Software, Data, and AI Systems: Lead development of automation frameworks, data pipelines, dashboards, and AI-enabled decision-support systems.
• Team Building and Culture: Build a distributed automation function across sites and disciplines with shared standards and operating rhythms.
• Cross-Functional Workflow Integration: Partner with yield, diagnostics, design, testing, IT, and manufacturing to connect data, tools, and decisions.
• Technical Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop a distributed automation team with succession planning.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive improvements to reduce manual effort and redeploy capacity to strategic work.
