Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Director of Warehouse Operations Management for our Sacramento distribution center. This role oversees a 260,000 sq ft startup facility with 100–180 staff, responsible for safety, quality, and cost as well as achieving service targets.

The role requires extensive leadership in automated DCs, experience with automation, and Lean Six Sigma expertise to drive long-term growth and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of leadership in an automated distribution center.
• Experience with technology and automation implementations is a plus.
• Previous medical distribution experience and/or e-commerce a plus.
• Lean Six Sigma (certified or experience) preferred, not required.
• Working knowledge of a Warehouse Management System is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated passion for excellence in serving customers and employees.
• Analytical mindset with data-driven decision making.
• Entrepreneurial mindset in a fluid, changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Build a highly effective team with a winning culture and develop strong talent pipelines.
• Develop succession plans and leadership pipelines for long-term bench strength.
• Lead and manage the site to meet safety, quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
• Develop production plans and procedures to maintain high distribution standards.
• Achieve customer service KPIs including on-time departures and inventory accuracy.
• Execute the site's strategic roadmap aligning capabilities with growth goals.
• Ensure regulatory compliance at US and local levels.
• Monitor production schedules aligned with demand and inventory goals.
• Support HR programs including recruitment, training, and compensation.
• Maintain employee safety and safety compliance.
