Alvarez & Marsal in New York seeks a Director of Financial Services Tax focused on asset management. You will lead complex tax compliance and reporting engagements for private equity and asset management clients.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in partnership tax, strong communication and leadership skills, and experience with multi‑jurisdictional tax issues in a Big Four or comparable firm. You will mentor teams and contribute to business development while staying current on ASC 740 and tax

Competenze

• CPA and JD (with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting or tax, preferred).
• 7+ years of experience in partnership tax for asset managers or funds at a Big 4 or similar firm.
• Solid understanding of partnership tax concepts, allocations, and K‑1 reporting.
• Familiarity with tax software (OneSource, GoSystem) and ability to work with large datasets.
• Exposure to ASC 740 tax provisions (current vs. deferred taxes, uncertain tax positions) is preferred.
• Knowledge of international tax reporting and investor-level reporting for non-US partners.
• Understanding of Section 163(j) interest limitation rules and tax distribution waterfalls.
• Strong communication, presentation, and project management skills; team player.
• Ability to adapt to evolving timelines and priorities.
