Position: Director, Asset Management - AES US Utilities

AES US Utilities seeks a Director to lead Generation, Transmission, and Distribution (T&D) Planning and Asset Management teams. This role involves overseeing Asset Management, Planning, Forecasting, and Performance, setting strategic direction, and improving reliability and performance through data-driven analysis and collaboration. The Director will provide technical and managerial guidance, influence future business and regulatory strategies, and ensure operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and oversee annual budgets for T&D and Generation outages to maximize reliability.
  • Design strategies for system needs through customer analysis, T&D forecasting, and modeling to support regulatory and capacity expansion initiatives.
  • Define and implement asset management strategies with KPIs, leading initiatives for operational improvements and long-term reliability.
  • Monitor asset performance, ensuring operational and financial objectives are met, and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Support regulatory testimony and build relationships with internal stakeholders using advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and innovative algorithms.
Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the utilities industry, especially in Transmission, Distribution, Planning, or Analytics.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in mathematical modeling.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven leadership and talent development abilities.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with regulatory proceedings.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP).
  • Six Sigma certification.
