Position: Director of Asset Management, AES US Utilities

AES US Utilities seeks a Director to lead the Generation, Transmission, and Distribution (T&D) Planning and Asset Management teams. This role involves overseeing Asset Management, Planning, Forecasting, and Performance, setting strategic direction, and improving reliability and performance through collaborative, data-driven approaches.

The Director will provide technical and managerial guidance, analyze future business, financial, and regulatory scenarios, and support T&D expansion and reliability initiatives.

Position Description:

The Director is responsible for leading asset management strategies for Generation and T&D, including:

  1. Annual Budget Development: Collaborate on creating budgets for outages, ensuring reliability and operational benefits.
  2. Planning: Develop strategies for system needs, customer analysis, power flow forecasting, and modeling to support regulatory and reliability goals.
  3. Asset Management: Define and implement asset performance KPIs, lead improvement initiatives, and conduct root cause analyses.
  4. Performance: Ensure assets meet financial and operational objectives, monitor KPIs, and take corrective actions.
  5. Sponsor Testimony: Support regulatory proceedings related to AES US T&D activities.

The role also involves building relationships internally, leveraging advanced analytics, and developing operational strategies to support growth and performance.

Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering
  • At least 10 years of utilities industry experience, preferably in Transmission, Distribution, Planning, or Analytics
  • Strong analytical skills with mathematical modeling experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven leadership and talent development abilities
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with regulatory proceedings at state and/or federal levels
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification
  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP)
  • Six Sigma Certification
