Job summary

Beacon Biosignals in Boston is seeking a Director, Analytics Systems to lead the Analytics Systems Team. You’ll oversee 6-10 engineers, drive development of analytics suite, data tooling, and governance to support life sciences customers.

You’ll partner with the VP of Analytics and ML, shape roadmap, ensure high engineering quality, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. This role offers a first-class remote work experience with in-person hubs in Boston, New York, and Paris.

Qualifications

6+ years of management experience leading analytics teams and tackling big problems.
Experience across analytics engineering (dbt, SQLMesh), data modeling and pipelines (Snowflake, Databricks, Argo, Airflow), and BI tooling (Superset, Looker, Tableau) to guide tradeoffs and decisions.
Experience in the medical device space, clinical diagnostics, real-world-data, pharma/biotech or related fields.
You've worked in a regulated industry before, balancing agile development with design controls.
You demonstrate a bias toward simplicity and structured thinking to avoid unnecessary complexity.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills and the ability to align partners around decisions and plans.
You translate user and product needs into prioritization decisions that drive high-impact work.
You anticipate company-wide needs and opportunities and address them proactively.
You understand bandwidth, technical debt, and non-iterative processes and apply effective remedies.

Responsibilities

Manage 6-10 engineers (and later managers) on the Analytics Systems Team, coaching them to grow impact and overcome challenges.
Develop and share a deep understanding of the team's activity and products to improve internal processes and integration with Beacon.
Maintain high engineering quality, productivity, and accountability while raising standards over time.
Help scope out and prioritize week-to-week work in alignment with broader strategic initiatives.
Ensure longer-term development roadmap is outcome-oriented and communicated to stakeholders.
Own project management for team initiatives, including scope and timelines.
Drive product direction and discovery, establishing processes and cross-functional connections.
Craft and execute a forward-looking strategic vision for Analytics Systems in Life Science and diagnostic workflows.
