Job summary

Current in New York is seeking a Director of Analytics Engineering to architect and lead the data transformation layer, defining the BigQuery data warehouse vision and steering a high-performing analytics engineering team to translate business needs into scalable data models powering fintech insights.

You will own the analytics roadmap, mentor offshore members, and collaborate with Finance, Product, and Compliance to ensure data integrity and actionable insights across the org.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data architecture or analytics engineering.
• 5+ years leading high-velocity teams within enterprise-grade data warehouses.
• Expert-level SQL and Kimball/Star Schema experience with modern tooling (dbt, BigQuery, Airflow, Looker).

Responsibilities

• Define and own the Analytics Engineering and BI roadmap for data warehousing, modeling, and reporting.
• Architect robust dimensional models and data marts in BigQuery using dbt and Airflow, ensuring data integrity for Looker-based analytics.
• Scale and mentor a diverse team of analytics engineers, establishing career ladders and promoting technical excellence.
