Job summary

Principal Financial Group is seeking a Director of Business Strategy to lead enterprise Data & Analytics strategy and operating model execution. You will shape priorities, align with senior leaders, and drive measurable outcomes across data, analytics, and AI initiatives.

You will partner across data/analytics, enterprise technology, and business strategy to translate direction into actionable priorities, while managing executive requests and driving alignment in a matrixed environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, technology, engineering, or related field.
• Over 10 years in strategy, operating model leadership, or enterprise transformation.
• Experience influencing executive and board-level stakeholders.
• Strong ability to translate concepts into clear executive-ready insights.
• Understanding of operating model design and governance in data/analytics or tech.

Responsibilities

• Shape and align enterprise Data, Analytics, and AI strategy with priorities.
• Lead design and maturity of the Data & Analytics Operating Model.
• Establish strategic planning cadence and executive reporting.
• Develop clear executive narratives for leadership forums and Board discussions.
• Connect data/analytics with enterprise strategy across functions in a matrixed environment.
