Job summary

Current is a leading consumer fintech platform based in NYC. The Director, Analytics Engineering will own the data transformation layer, drive BI strategy, and lead a hands-on analytics engineering team to deliver scalable data models and Looker analytics.

You will partner with product, finance, and engineering to align data with business goals and ensure data quality. The role demands a player-coach mindset, deep SQL, dbt/BigQuery expertise, and cloud fluency across GCP/AWS.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or Data Architecture.
• Proven track record building and scaling enterprise-grade data warehouses.
• Deep mastery of Kimball/Star Schema in fintech data.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive Analytics Engineering and BI strategy and roadmap.
• Lead design/implementation of data models and pipelines (ETL/ELT).
• Mentor and grow a high-performing analytics engineering team.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into data assets and dashboards.
