Job summary

University of Miami Health System seeks a Director of Clinical Operations to direct strategy and delivery for hospital outpatient clinics in South Florida. The role analyzes resource models and aligns leadership between the hospital and department to improve patient experience, staff satisfaction, and physician engagement.

The incumbent will establish efficient clinic workflows, manage staffing and non-physician care delivery models, and ensure regulatory compliance while driving enterprise

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of business and management principles.
• Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
• Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.
• Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
• Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.

Responsibilities

• Develops an efficient and effective collaborative relationship between site staff and faculty members, fostering a positive working relationship.
• Identifies resource needs for operational plans and develops a resource tracking process.
• Evaluates communication channels and designs a comprehensive patient centered telephone call strategy.
• Creates benchmarks for visit times, wait times, phone handling, and delays.
• Develops clinic flow parameters and dashboards for patient flow and wait times.
• Creates non-physician provider care delivery models based on acuity and complexity.
• Reviews staffing models to ensure productivity and increased patient flow.
• Collaborates with leaders to resolve patient and family issues with faculty involvement.
• Creates policies and procedures with leadership and maintains regulatory compliance.
• Provides senior management with updates on progress, scope, schedule, and resources.
• Establishes and assesses internal controls and compliance with University policies.
