Job summary

The Department of the Air Force Headquarters seeks a Director for Manpower Organization and Resources to provide executive oversight and strategic direction for the $60B Air Force Manpower Program. This role shapes organizational structure, studies and designations across the enterprise.

Responsibilities include policy development for manpower requirements, programming and resource utilization, and leading the development of Total Force manpower frameworks to meet home station and wartime needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is desired.
• A master's or advanced degree from an accredited institution is highly desired.
• An undergraduate technical degree or an advanced degree in either a technical or management field is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• The Headquarters Air Force Director of Manpower, Organization and Resources (A1M) is responsible for the strategic direction and executive oversight of the approximately $60B Air Force Manpower Program. The directorate establishes the overarching vision and policy governing organizational structure, studies, and designations across the enterprise.
• It holds ultimate responsibility for policies driving the manpower requirements process, programming, and resource utilization and control. The Directorate leads the strategic development of frameworks to determine Total Force manpower requirements, ensuring the optimal mix of active duty and civilian end strengths to meet both home station and full wartime requirements.
