Job summary

PayPal is seeking a Director of AI Strategy and Product Management to drive AI across our big bets—aligning business strategy with applied AI to accelerate delivery and improve visibility into progress and risk.

You will lead cross-functional collaboration, influence architectural roadmaps, ensure regulatory alignment, and own metrics for product success, profitability, and customer experience. This remote-friendly role is based in San Jose with a balanced hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• 10+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2 years of experience leading others.
• Experience at a regulated fintech, bank, or payments company.
• Familiarity with AI governance, model risk management, or responsible AI practices.

Responsibilities

• Establish a shared vision across the company for one or more products, or a platform product enabling development & scalability.
• Lead product strategy development with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Influence the architectural roadmap while balancing regulatory requirements and time-to-market.
• Champion the customer experience and prioritize customer needs in requirements.
• Define and use metrics to inform product success, usability, research and market analysis.
• Standardize workstreams to drive data-driven decision-making.
• Responsible for product profitability and budgetary decisions.
• Lead reviews and ensure accountability, interfacing with senior leadership as needed.
