Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's with specified experience in AI/ML.
• At least 3 years of people leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver AI-powered products with cross-functional teams across engineering, research, PM, and program management.
• Oversee design, development, testing, deployment, and support of AI software components including foundation models, inference, similarity search, guardrails, evaluation, governance, and observability.
• Make build-vs-buy decisions across Open Source and SaaS AI technologies like AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, PyTorch.
• Invent foundation model optimization techniques to improve performance, cost, latency, and throughput of large-scale AI systems.
• Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems at Capital One.
• Attract and retain top AI talent and nurture development through mentoring and coaching.
• Translate AI strategy into portfolio-level execution plans across product areas, balancing innovation with delivery.
• Scale AI engineering practices via shared infra, reusable components, and unified observability and governance.
• Establish enterprise standard for Responsible AI, including fairness metrics and audit readiness.
