Acadia Pharmaceuticals Inc. is seeking a Director of AI Engineering to lead the enterprise AI platform and agent ecosystem, delivering secure, scalable, and low-code AI solutions across the organization.

You will partner with IT, Cybersecurity, and business stakeholders to accelerate AI adoption while ensuring governance and regulatory compliance. The role requires expert-level experience with major agent frameworks, RAG solutions, and memory systems, plus a proven track record in building

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or related field.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years of AI/ML, software engineering, or related field experience including 4+ years building production-grade agentic AI systems.

Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain the enterprise agent platform, coordinating agents with multiple SDKs.
• Engineer multi-agent coordination patterns for collaborative workflows.
• Design reusable agent templates and memory systems for non-engineers to configure.
• Build HITL escalation workflows and defined agent action boundaries.
• Lead self-service RAG builder with low-code interface for business users.
• Operate an enterprise tool and skill registry with security controls.
• Manage enterprise prompt management system with governance and A/B testing.
• Own evaluation/benchmarking methodology for agentic systems with automated regression.
• Implement multi-layer guardrails for input/output validation and policy enforcement.
• Mentor engineers and drive rigorous evaluation and responsible experimentation.
