Job summary

CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) is seeking a Software Engineering Director to lead design and delivery of AI‑driven software solutions in our AI & Automation practice. You will work with clients and engineering teams to translate business needs into practical, secure, scalable software solutions.

Ideal candidates blend deep software engineering with architecture leadership, strong communication, and hands‑on comfort with emerging tools, AI, and cloud platforms to drive impactful client outcomes.

Qualifications

• 6 years of relevant experience required. 7 years preferred in software engineering, solution architecture, cloud engineering, application development, systems integration, or related technology roles.
• Bachelor's degree is required. Combination of relevant experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree.
• Experience leading software engineering teams, complex implementations, or solution architecture projects.
• Strong hands-on software engineering background with production systems experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure services and enterprise integrations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical architecture and implementation of client solutions involving custom software, cloud applications, APIs, enterprise integrations, automation, and AI‑enabled capabilities.
• Work directly with clients to understand business processes and translate conversations into practical solution designs.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor, communicating architectural decisions and risks to stakeholders.
• Maintain hands-on involvement in architecture, prototyping, code reviews, and complex integrations.
• Guide implementation across client environments, considering security, identity management, and deployment processes.
• Apply AI‑assisted development tools to accelerate software development while ensuring quality.
