Job summary

CliftonLarsonAllen LLP is seeking a Software Engineering Director to provide technical leadership across the design, build, and delivery of software solutions within the AI & Automation practice. The role collaborates with clients and engineering teams to translate business needs into practical, scalable designs and hands-on implementations.

The ideal candidate combines deep software engineering expertise with strong architectural judgment and comfort with AI-enabled, cloud-based solutions.

Qualifications

• 6 years of relevant experience required; 7 years preferred in software engineering, solution architecture, cloud engineering, application development, systems integration, or related technology roles.
• Bachelor's degree is required; combination of relevant experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree.
• Experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex client solutions across custom software, cloud applications, and AI-enabled capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical architecture and implementation of client solutions involving custom software, cloud applications, APIs, enterprise integrations, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients, communicating architectural decisions, tradeoffs, project risks, and recommendations clearly.
• Maintain hands-on involvement in software engineering, including architecture, prototyping, code reviews, and complex integrations.
