Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Product Design Director to lead Bank Self-Servicing Design within its Experience Design organization in New York, NY. This hybrid role focuses on scaling AI-enabled customer assist experiences across self-servicing channels while building a high-performing design team and practice.

You will drive design strategy, expand AI-enabled experiences, guide chatbot frameworks, and oversee design systems to deliver coherent, high-quality artifacts across platforms while fostering

Qualifications

• 8+ years in product design
• 3+ years leading design teams
• Experience with design toolkit spanning product, service, strategy, and content design
• Experience leading design teams across UX/UI, strategy, content, and research
• Experience partnering with product managers, engineers, marketing, and analytics across multiple lines
• Experience within a design system
• Proficiency with web and mobile technologies
• Strong business case development grounding product decisions
• Excellent written and verbal communication and relationship-building skills
• Strong people management and development skills

Responsibilities

• Lead a cross-disciplinary team of designers and collaborate with researchers, Product and Tech leadership.
• Drive design strategy for high-impact initiatives aligned to vision and business objectives
• Expand AI-enabled experiences across multiple self-servicing channels
• Define chatbot frameworks, conversational flows, and AI-to-human handoffs
• Elevate the design practice and oversee tools, frameworks, and systems
• Foster inclusive culture and positive team environment
• Champion customer and partner perspectives to align business and customer outcomes
• Share insights on technical advances and data capabilities
• Connect work across teams to improve coherence and accelerate delivery
• Present work for senior stakeholder alignment with a human-centered approach
