Job summary

Meta seeks a Director of Software Engineering for Central Security to lead identity and access management across its infrastructure. You will drive multi-year strategies, build automated controls, and collaborate with executives to balance security with speed of innovation.

You will lead a distributed team of engineers and security specialists, partnering with product, HR, legal, and IT to advance Meta's security posture while enabling scalable operations globally.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience focused on security, identity, or infrastructure.
• 7+ years in engineering management, including managing engineering managers.
• Track record of building and scaling engineering organizations.
• Experience forming cross-functional partnerships with product, design, and data science.
• Experience reasoning with metrics, uncertainty, bias, and trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive multi-year strategy for identity, authentication, and access management across Meta's infrastructure.
• Lead development of an adopted model for agent identity and authorization as AI agents act for people.
• Build and scale a distributed, multi-disciplinary team across global sites.
• Partner with Security, Infrastructure, HR, Legal to translate requirements into security/velocity trade-offs.
• Represent identity and access to leadership including CTO and CISO with investment rationale.
• Reduce access-related incidents by addressing root causes and systemic controls.
• Automate access approvals and reviews to replace manual processes.
• Define and enforce access policy supporting regulatory obligations.
• Develop controls for expansion into higher-threat environments.
• Serve as escalation point for urgent identity and access matters.
