Job summary

Meta is seeking a Director Software Engineering for Central Security to lead identity, authentication, and access across its infrastructure. You will guide multi-year strategies, shape agent identity models, and drive automated controls at scale, partnering with product, infra, HR, and legal teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on security, identity, or infrastructure systems.
• 7+ years of engineering management experience, including managing engineering managers.
• Track record of building and scaling engineering organizations, including recruiting, developing, and managing engineers and leaders.
• Experience forming cross-functional partnerships across product, design, and data science to deliver large-scale outcomes.
• Experience reasoning with metrics and data, understanding statistical uncertainty, bias, and trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive multi-year technical strategy for identity, authentication, and access management across Meta's infrastructure.
• Lead development of a model for agent identity and authorization as AI agents act on behalf of people across infrastructure.
• Build and scale a distributed, multi-disciplinary organization of engineers and security teams across global sites.
• Translate ambiguous business requirements into tradeoffs between security and operational velocity.
• Represent identity and access perspectives to leadership, advocating for investments and risk decisions.
• Drive reduction in access-related incidents by addressing root causes rather than individual incidents.
• Replace manual access approval and review with automated controls at scale.
• Define and enforce access policy addressing regulatory and compliance obligations.
• Develop controls for geographic expansion into higher-threat environments.
• Serve as escalation point for urgent, confidential identity and access issues.
