Job summary

Nubank in Palo Alto is seeking a Director to define and lead the AI Developer Experience pillar within Engineering Enablement, transforming how engineers write, review, deploy, and operate software at scale.

You will inherit a mandate, grow a team of engineers, manage build-vs-buy decisions, and partner with third-party vendors while reporting to senior directors and engaging with the CTO as Nubank scales its AI-native developer platform.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of AI-native developer tooling or platform teams.
• Track record building full-time engineering teams out of fragmented resources.
• Real experience structuring and running third-party vendor partnerships.
• Hands-on technical credibility in agentic coding systems or retrieval infrastructure.
• Comfort operating in a high-velocity, executive-visibility org.

Responsibilities

• Own and scale the AI Developer Experience pillar, with an initial focus on measurably increasing shipped PRs per engineer per week through automation.
• Build the team from the ground up, converting today’s borrowed contributors into a full-time organization.
• Run the build-vs-partner motion with third parties to benchmark and accelerate.
• Lead the AI Enablement Platform scope and engage with external vendors.
