Job summary

Motive is seeking a Director of Developer Platform & Experience to own the internal developer ecosystem across Rails, Go, mobile and embedded codebases. You will shape AI-driven development and cloud-based tooling to help hundreds of engineers move faster with confidence.

Lead a multi-region org, build scalable infrastructure, improve CI/CD, and ensure security and cost controls. This is a hands-on leadership role blending strategy with real systems ownership.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in software engineering with 6+ years leading teams.
• Experience shipping and operating production systems.
• Deep DevOps and infrastructure depth: CI/CD, containers, Kubernetes.
• Ownership of developer productivity and platform at scale.
• Experience with AI developer tooling and agentic development.
• Experience building cloud-based development environments with security and cost controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multi-team organization across North America and Asia.
• Define strategy for developer platform and infrastructure.
• Ensure secure, cost-aware, multi-region development environments.
• Partner with product teams to drive developer velocity and adoption.
• Hire and develop engineering managers and senior ICs.
