Merck is seeking a Director, AI and Cybersecurity Legal to provide strategic legal counsel on AI design, governance, and regulatory compliance across the enterprise. The role partners with the CISO and privacy teams to manage risk while enabling innovation in a highly regulated global pharmaceutical environment.

Competenze

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar admission in at least one U.S. state.
• Minimum 10 years of legal experience in cybersecurity/technology/AI regulatory matters.
• Experience in highly regulated environments such as pharma, life sciences, or healthcare.

Mansioni

• Provide strategic legal counsel on AI, AI governance, and responsible AI principles.
• Advise on cybersecurity regulatory requirements (HIPAA, SEC rules, etc.) and incident response from a legal perspective.
• Lead AI contract negotiations and technology transactions, including data rights and third-party platforms.
• Collaborate with IT, risk management, and business teams to enable innovation while managing risks.
• Represent Merck externally with regulators, trade associations and industry groups.
• Develop and review cybersecurity policies and vendor security provisions in contracts.
