Job summary

Merck seeks a Director of AI Delivery Management to lead end-to-end AI implementation initiatives, reporting to the AI Delivery Executive Director. The role builds build teams, ensures delivery across SDLC, and drives outcomes through agile practices and governance.

The position requires senior leadership, governance across the AI portfolio, and the ability to align strategy with execution, while mentoring dispersed teams and fostering an inclusive culture.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the engagement execution lead for AI implementation projects, programs, initiatives, and strategic pursuits.
• Provide executive counsel and represent the AI organization in cross IT planning, design, and execution, and operations sessions.
• Drive adoption of ethical, safe, and value-driven AI across product development, portfolio management, and customer engagements.
• Lead and mentor day-to-day AI team members across delivery engagements.
• Oversee multiple teams of employees and contractors across tech centers.
• Foster a culture of servant leadership, inclusion, and continuous learning.
• Participate in talent strategy: recruiting, developing, and retaining team members.
• Ensure project and product management deliver clear strategy, roadmaps, market/enterprise fit.
• Champion agentic-led thinking and ensure product practices are measurable and outcomes-focused.
• Work with product leaders to align metrics to business value and robust requirements.
