Job summary

Humana in Dallas seeks an accomplished Director of AI Engineering to lead the strategy, architecture, and delivery of enterprise-scale agentic AI capabilities within Humana's AI platform. This leader will drive foundational AI services, frameworks, and platforms enabling rapid building, deployment, and scale of next-generation AI solutions across diverse business domains.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Ph.D. or Master’s) in Computer Science or related field.
• 10+ years of AI/ML engineering experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proficiency in ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch), Python, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proven track record of leading and growing high-performing engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of AI engineers building foundational services, frameworks, and tools.
• Stay current with generative AI trends and apply them effectively.
• Drive cross-functional alignment with enterprise architecture, security, data engineering, DevOps, and application leads.
• Mentor and coach engineers, fostering experimentation and excellence.
• Ensure strong engineering practices including CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and incident response.
• Define and drive strategic plans and team performance aligned with agentic AI initiatives.
• Collaborate with application teams to design reusable components on the agentic AI platform.
