Job summary

University of Hawaii Honolulu Community College seeks a Director for PCATT to lead advanced technology training and continuing education initiatives. The role oversees non-credit programs, budgets, facilities, and partnerships with industry to expand workforce development.

The Director will coordinate academic and administrative activities, drive program development and external funding efforts, and ensure compliance with University policies while guiding staff and faculty toward strategic goals.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in technology, engineering, business, sciences, social sciences or related field plus 3 years of progressively responsible professional experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in technology, engineering, business, sciences, social sciences or related field plus 7 years of progressively responsible professional experience.
  • Experience in budget development and execution.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal competence in presenting ideas, concepts and models clearly using persuasion and negotiation to build consensus.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and individuals.
  • Ability to lead subordinates, manage work priorities and projects, and manage employee relations.
  • High level of computer literacy.
  • Experience in developing, coordinating and managing projects.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret administrative directives and guidance for IT operations alignment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to the overall advanced technology development of the College and the development, marketing and delivery of non-credit workforce-oriented training.
  • Develop and monitor budget and expenditure plans for all approved activities and oversee expenditures of funds for allocated and special funds.
  • Oversee inventory and equipment needs and manage other financial resources for PCATT.
  • Ensure compliance with University regulations regarding non-credit programs.
  • Direct PCATT operations and develop labs and facilities in support of training.
  • Develop policies related to continuing education and its intersection with credit-based education.
