Job summary

Acumen Group seeks a Director-level actuary to lead its Economic Capital function and shape enterprise-wide capital, risk, and strategic decisions. This high-visibility role sits at the intersection of actuarial, finance, investments, ALM, and enterprise risk management.

The candidate will oversee governance, reporting, analysis, and stakeholder engagement, driving integration of capital and risk insights into business strategy and capital allocation decisions while leading and developing a team

Qualifications

• 8+ years of actuarial experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Experience in Economic Capital, Capital Management, ALM, ERM, or Investments.
• Prior leadership or people management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead production, validation, interpretation, and reporting of economic capital results.
• Partner with senior leadership to support capital management, risk oversight, and strategic decisions.
• Serve as liaison with stakeholders on capital methodologies, governance, reporting and initiatives.
• Collaborate with actuarial, finance, investments, ALM, product and ERM teams to align capital metrics.
• Identify opportunities to embed economic capital insights into planning and growth.
• Communicate capital results and risks to executive leadership and stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of actuarial professionals.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing economic capital governance, reporting, analysis, and stakeholder engagement, while driving the integration of capital and risk insights into business strategy, growth initiatives, and capital allocation decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the production, validation, interpretation, and reporting of economic capital results.
• Partner with senior leadership to support capital management, risk oversight, and strategic business decisions.
• Serve as a key liaison with stakeholders collaborating on capital methodologies, assumptions, governance, reporting, and strategic initiatives.
• Work closely with actuarial, finance, investments, ALM, product, and enterprise risk teams to ensure alignment and effective use of capital metrics across the organization.
• Identify opportunities to incorporate economic capital insights into business planning, performance measurement, and growth initiatives.
• Communicate capital results, emerging risks, and strategic implications to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of actuarial professionals.
