Job description

Job Title: Director, ACES - Brooklyn & Queens

Job Summary

CASES is seeking a Director committed to advancing ACES's mission across Brooklyn and Queens. The Education, Career and Enrichment department at CASES specializes in serving youth and young adults impacted by the criminal legal system and those impacted by violence.

The Assertive Community Engagement & Success (ACES) program serves young men ages 16-24. The program began with services to youth residing in East Harlem or the South Bronx who may not have started but can strive to overcome threatening environments and system involvement to find the path to success. These young people will be engaged in high-risk behaviors and voluntarily engage with the ACES program.

The ACES program is currently expanding to Brownsville. We are looking for skilled team members who can envision a model based on the theory that young people regardless of roadblocks—violence, trauma, racism, gangs, incarceration, truancy and unemployment—can engage in positive relationships to change behaviors and acquire life, education and employment skills.

The ECE department is in search of a director who will support the expansion of the ACES program to Brooklyn & Queens. This role will have the administrative responsibility to ensure the program model is implemented to fidelity, supervisors have adequate support to lead their teams and that our participants receive the care they deserve. This position requires a hands‑on approach and frequent community visits to both support staff and community partners.

Salary: The salary for this role is $95,000 per year.

Shift Hours: This is a full‑time position working Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm.

Location Address: 4 West 125th Street, 2nd Floor, New York, NY, 10027. Our office is easily accessible by public transportation.

Workplace Flexibility: Flexible - (for roles that have days that can be partially remote, e.g., being able to draft notes at home after going to the office/community in the morning).

What You Will Be Doing
  • Serve as leading champion and ambassador for advancing the program’s mission and values with internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop ACES supervisors to successfully manage teams and reach full management and team leadership capacity
  • Lead staff using a performance management and professional development process that encourages employee contributions and includes goal setting, feedback, and professional development
  • Ensure the program aligns with youth development practices, trauma‑informed care, and ReWire CBT model
  • Support teams in problem‑solving for complex cases
  • Identify, build, and maintain strong collaborative relationships with program partners, including leadership within local communities, clergy, NYPD, probation and court stakeholders;
  • Plan and implement continuous quality improvement processes that utilize effective performance management and metrics and utilize program data to inform planning
  • Prepare reports and work closely with the Data Analyst to assess program impact and support evaluation of performance quantitatively and qualitatively
  • Ensure contractual obligations and intentions are being met
  • Manage program budget to ensure resources are used effectively
What We Are Looking For

  • Deep passion for working with youth and families impacted by the criminal legal system
  • Experience implementing programs/services
  • Ability to create tools and systems that support team and program success
  • Demonstrated knowledge of youth development, trauma‑informed practices, and behavioral interventions

  • Strong communication skills including a strong command of discussing outcomes with a variety of stakeholders and strong presentation skills
