Job Description

In this highly visible leadership role, the Director, Accounting and Financial Reporting, will lead the accounting and financial reporting functions to support the System’s strategic goals and objectives. This leader will primarily oversee accounting policies and procedures, and handle communication and issue resolution within the centralized accounting department. The Director reports to the Vice President of Accounting.

1. Manage and evaluate the Accounting and Financial Reporting shared services operations, including month-end close, financial analytics, and analysis.
2. Produce consolidated monthly and annual financial statements, ensuring integrity and consistency across the system.
3. Continuously improve the effectiveness and efficiency of financial reporting processes and controls.
4. Prepare presentations for the board and other committees.
5. Assess the impact of new accounting standards and financial reporting developments, and prepare related technical documentation.
6. Assist external auditors during annual audits, resolving accounting and auditing issues.
7. Manage external audit requirements.
8. Maintain current and in-depth knowledge of accounting principles.
9. Develop automation and standardization for regular accounting reports and schedules.
10. Foster teamwork between accounting and operational functions.
11. Lead and develop accounting department processes and staff.
12. Interact extensively with finance leaders, Legal, Tax, Treasury, Internal/External Audit, and other departments.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field (Required)
• 6-9 years of relevant experience
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
