About the Role
Are you:
- A people-centric manager? You will manage and collaborate with Accounting Specialists and oversee the work they provide to our clients.
- Passionate about accounting? You’ll work closely with multiple Technology and Life Science clients, helping them build scalable systems and processes.

- A QuickBooks wizard? Bonus points if you have certifications or experience with Sage Intacct or Netsuite!

What You’ll Be Doing
- Manager, Mentor, Coach: Lead and manage team members through mentoring, training, and weekly team and one-on-one meetings.
- Oversee Client Accounts: Maintain the books for various clients, adhering to strict timelines. You will also oversee all activities of your direct reports.
- Onboarding: Assist with the onboarding and implementation of new clients and team members.
- Providing Guidance: Support clients through the startup lifecycle, from grant accounting to procurement workflows.
- Collaborating with Clients: Participate in virtual meetings to review financial statements and offer strategic advice.
- Contributing to Team Excellence: Help create and maintain SOP resources and become a subject matter expert for at least one of our preferred software.
What We’re Looking For
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Experience with accounting in Technology (SaaS, app development, etc.) and/or Life Sciences (biotech, biopharma, etc.).
- A 4-year degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, required.
- At least 2 years of QuickBooks Online experience (bonus for certifications!).
- 5+ years of experience that includes client services accounting experience working with multiple clients and project management, accrual-based accounting, general ledger, month-/year-end closing processes, and payroll administration.
- A minimum of 3 years experience at the Controller-level, or similar role.
- Solid GAAP knowledge and advanced Excel skills.
- Proficiency with online project management, communication, payment processing, and secure file sharing platforms (ie. Keeper, Notion, Slack, Missive and Bill.com).
