Motive is looking for a detail oriented, highly motivated Revenue Accounting Manager to lead revenue recognition processes and drive operational excellence. The ideal candidate will combine strong data analysis skills, process improvement expertise, with technical accounting knowledge of ASC 606. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting, this role will oversee the Senior, Revenue Accounting and the relationship with our revenue system contractors

What You'll Do:
  • Responsibility for month-end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Collaborate with Deal Desk, Order Management, Billing and Collections, and FP&A to ensure accurate revenue recognition of customer contracts in accordance with ASC 606
  • Work closely with Enterprise Systems to provide guidance on Revenue Accounting needs for accurate booking of contracts, implementation of new products, and other system changes
  • Drive process improvement projects to streamline and automate manual workflows
  • Manage open accounting and systems issues, including monitoring system tickets, collaborating with revenue accounting system contractors, and leading testing for system updates and changes
  • Conduct technical accounting research in collaboration with the Revenue Accounting Senior Manager, ensure appropriate solutions are implemented with process documentation, and as needed document conclusions in accounting policy format
  • Ensure risks are accurately mitigated and adequate controls are implemented
  • Support audit deliverables and help coordinate with auditors during the year-end/quarterly audits
What We're Looking For:
  • BA/BS or higher in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA, with experience in revenue recognition under ASC 606
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in a fast-growing SaaS, technology, or subscription based company. Some Public Accounting experience is strongly strongly preferred.
  • Passion for/knowledge of accounting and related systems
  • Experience using advanced Excel functions, with an interest and ability to work with large amounts of data
  • Familiarity with coding, specifically sql, is preferred.
  • Highly organized and self-directed, with keen attention to detail
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings and interact at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to multi-task and excel in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving, and data driven organization
  • Experience with Zuora (subscription billing software) and Salesforce CPQ is preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Snowflake, as well as Google Suite applications
  • Experience with Zuora RevPro is a plus
