Job description

Laurel is a leadership advisory firm built for an era of constant complexity, where business decisions are inseparable from communications, geopolitics, government dynamics, and capital markets. We were founded over a decade ago to serve global CEOs who recognized that traditional advisory models such as PR, consulting, investor relations, and government affairs operating in silos no longer work. Laurel integrates these disciplines into a single, high-trust advisory model.

We partner with CEOs, founders, investors, philanthropists, university presidents, nonprofit leaders, and other institutional leaders on their most consequential priorities, shaping strategy, narrative, and stakeholder engagement across business, media, policy, and markets. Our work spans strategic advisory, communications, geopolitical insight, government affairs, and investor relations, helping leaders anticipate risk, navigate complexity, and drive outcomes.

We operate as both advisors and operators, sitting alongside leadership teams to think through critical decisions while executing across communications, media, and relationship-building. Our global network of policymakers, investors, media leaders, and influential voices allows us to unlock access, build durable partnerships, and position our clients to lead on the issues that matter most.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
  • Master’s degree with specialization in communications, political science, international relations, economics, journalism, business, or finance
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience across relevant fields such as strategy consulting, communications, investor relations, government or public policy, political campaigns, or business operations
  • Ability to operate at the intersection of business strategy, communications, policy, and markets, with an understanding of how these dynamics shape leadership decision-making
  • Understanding of media and a proven track record of delivering results.
  • Energetic, positive, mission-focused and “all-in.”
  • Excellent client relationship skills and a willingness to go above and beyond.
  • Strong grasp of geopolitical, policy, and market dynamics, and the ability to translate complexity into clear strategic guidance
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write for and advise senior executives
  • High proficiency in editing and synthesizing complex information into clear, compelling narratives
  • Experience managing multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams and stakeholders
  • Excellent judgment, discretion, and ability to operate in highly confidential environments
  • Intellectual curiosity and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
  • Ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally
  • Flexibility with an understanding that work is often not confined to traditional hours
  • Willingness to travel
Job Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a day-to-day strategic partner to clients, supporting senior leaders on high-stakes decisions across business strategy, communications, government engagement, and investor positioning
  • Manage and drive multiple client workstreams, ensuring high-quality execution across strategy, communications, and stakeholder engagement
  • Advise on and help shape client narratives, positioning, and thought leadership in alignment with broader business, policy, and market objectives
  • Design and execute communications materials, including presentations, talking points, op-eds, speeches, and internal communications
  • Conduct stakeholder mapping and landscape analysis across business, policy, media, and investor ecosystems to identify risks and opportunities
  • Support client engagement with key external stakeholders, including policymakers, investors, media, and institutional partners
  • Contribute to geopolitical, policy, and market analysis, translating insights into actionable recommendations for clients
  • Conduct research and due diligence on potential partners, investors, and strategic opportunities
  • Draft high-quality briefing materials for senior-level meetings, convenings, and engagements
  • Support the planning and execution of high-level convenings, events, and relationship-building opportunities
  • Monitor media, policy, and market developments relevant to clients, providing timely insights and briefings
  • Manage timelines and deliverables across multiple projects while maintaining exceptional quality
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to deliver integrated, cross‑functional support to clients
  • Contribute to building and maintaining Laurel’s network of relationships across sectors
