Job summary

TelCom Construction, LLC in Marion, IA is seeking a Directional Drill Operator to install underground telecommunications cables and infrastructure. You will determine bore paths, operate drill equipment, and coordinate bore schedules while maintaining safety and efficiency on active work sites.

The role requires 18+ years old, a valid US work authorization, a High School Diploma or equivalent, a clean driving record, and a Class A CDL with tanker endorsement (or willingness to obtain).

• Responsible for site set-up, clean-up, and equipment maintenance
• Perform work in all weather conditions
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll do

• Determine bore path and locate utilities
• Safely operate and control all necessary equipment to complete assigned tasks

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Valid Class A Commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain it
• Experience with drilling equipment, including their capabilities, limitations, and drill setup and design processes

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level, in confined space and remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse
