Job summary

TelCom Construction, LLC is seeking a Telecom Drill Bores Operator to run Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) rigs for installing underground conduit and fiber optic cables without open trenches.

You will operate specialized equipment to lay communication lines beneath roads, sidewalks, and landscaped areas with minimal surface disruption, following safety protocols and bore schedules.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States
• High School Diploma, GED, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver’s license with clean record
• Valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain it
• Experience with drilling equipment and setup processes
• Background check and drug test required

Responsibilities

• Determine bore path and locate utilities
• Safely operate HDD rigs and all necessary equipment
• Verify existing utilities by potholing to determine bore path
• Utilize Mud mixing systems
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule
• Site set-up, clean-up, and equipment maintenance
• Work in all weather conditions
• Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Do

• Verify existing utilities by potholing to determine bore path
• Utilize “Mud” mixing systems

• Responsible for site set-up, clean-up, and equipment maintenance

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Valid Class A Commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain it
• Experience with drilling equipment, including their capabilities, limitations, and drill setup and design processes
• All offers are contingent on successfully passing a background and drug test test

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level, in confined space and remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse
