Job summary

Hunt Electric, Inc. is seeking a Directional Drill Operator to run a range of drilling equipment and support vehicles from its Salt Lake City area operations. This role emphasizes safety, utility depth knowledge, and adherence to company policies while maintaining equipment and logs.

The ideal candidate has experience with Vermeer/Ditch Witch gear, blueprints, and basic computer-supplied bore logging. A strong safety record and willingness to comply with MSHA/OSHA trainings are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a directional drill (Vermeer and/or Ditch Witch)
• Experience drilling in standard and high-risk areas with live utilities
• Knowledge of utility depths and placements
• General construction knowledge and routine equipment maintenance
• Asset protection and secure storage
• Ability to read blueprints and identify utilities
• Basic computer skills for bore logs
• Strong math skills
• Organizational skills for materials and tools

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain directional drilling equipment
• Operate related support vehicles and machinery
• Follow safety policies, attend safety meetings and trainings
