Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of directional drill experience (Vermeer/Ditch Witch).

• Ability to read blueprints and use blue stakes.
• Valid Utah CDL A and clean driving record; pass background check.

Responsibilities

Hunt Electric, Inc. is looking for a Directional Drill Operator, responsible for running a variety of directional drilling equipment.

As a Directional Drill Operator, you will operate and maintain directional drilling equipment (Vermeer and/or Ditch Witch), a vacuum truck, mud truck, excavator, forklift, dump truck, and others not listed. The position requires a strong focus on safety, including reading and following company policies, attending safety meetings, and completing required training such as MSHA and OSHA.

Required Skills

• Minimum 1 year of experience operating a directional drill (Vermeer and/or Ditch Witch).
• Experience drilling in standard and high‑risk areas, including those with live utilities.
• Knowledge of utility depths and placement.
• General knowledge of construction practices and familiarity with equipment, including routine service and maintenance (washing, checking fluids, tire pressures, grease, etc.).
• Commitment to maintaining equipment and assets in good repair and secure.
• Ability to read blueprints and use blue stakes for marked utilities.
• Basic computer skills for developing and maintaining bore logs.
• Strong math and organizational skills for managing excavation resources.
• Other duties or locations as assigned by manager.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Utah Class A CDL License with no restrictions.
• Clean driving record.
• Pass a background check.
