Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Directional Drill Operator/Locator to support underground conduit and fiber optic installations. You will operate horizontal directional bores, collaborating with the Drill Locator to ensure precise system placement while maintaining safety and compliance on the job site.

You must have at least 2 years of urban directional drilling experience, familiarity with Vermeer or Ditch Witch drills, and a valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of utility directional drilling in an urban environment.
• Experience with Vermeer or Ditch Witch drills.
• Ability to read maps, drawings, and diagrams for project build.
• Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Support directional drilling for underground conduit and fiber optic cable.
• Operate horizontal directional bore with Drill Locator to install systems.
• Ensure public safety and protect other underground facilities.
• Read utility locates and daylight these facilities.
• Transport heavy equipment to and from job site daily.
