Job summary

TelCom Construction, LLC is seeking a Telecom Drill Bores Operator in Council Bluffs, IA. You will operate drill equipment to install underground telecommunications cables and infrastructure and ensure bore paths are correctly planned.

A valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement is required, and candidates must be 18+, authorized to work in the US, and have a high school diploma or GED or relevant experience. You will work in all weather and maintain equipment.

Qualifications

• Must have a Valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Authorized to work in the United States for this company.
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent, or relevant work experience.
• Experience with drilling equipment, setup, and design processes.

Responsibilities

• Determine bore path and locate utilities.
• Safely operate and control all necessary drilling equipment.
• Verify utilities by potholing to determine bore path.
• Utilize Mud mixing systems.
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule.
• Site set-up, clean-up, and equipment maintenance.
• Perform work in all weather conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

• Determine bore path and locate utilities
• Safely operate and control all necessary equipment to complete assigned tasks
• Verify existing utilities by potholing to determine bore path
• Utilize "Mud" mixing systems
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule
• Responsible for site set-up, clean-up, and equipment maintenance
• Perform work in all weather conditions
• Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

• Valid Class A Commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement
• To be 18 years of age or older

• Experience with drilling equipment, including their capabilities, limitations, and drill set-up and design processes

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level, in confined space and remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse
