Job summary

TelCom Construction, LLC seeks a Traveling Telecom Drill Bores Operator to install underground telecommunications cables and infrastructure.

Responsibilities include determining bore paths, locating utilities, and safely operating drilling equipment. Eligible applicants will have a high school diploma or GED, a Class A CDL with tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain it, and the ability to travel up to 100% across job sites.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Authorized to work in the United States for TelCom Construction, LLC.
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent, or relevant work experience.
• Valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain it.
• Experience with drilling equipment and bore operations.

Responsibilities

• Determine bore path and locate utilities.
• Safely operate and control all drilling equipment to complete tasks.
• Verify utilities by potholing to determine bore path.
• Use Mud mixing systems as required.
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule.
• Site set-up, cleanup and equipment maintenance.
• Work in all weather conditions and travel up to 100%.

What You’ll Do

• Determine bore path and locate utilities
• Safely operate and control all necessary equipment to complete assigned tasks
• Verify existing utilities by potholing to determine bore path
• Utilize “Mud” mixing systems
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule
• Responsible for site set-up, clean-up, and equipment maintenance
• Perform work in all weather conditions
• Up to 100% travel
• Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Valid Class A Commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain it
• Experience with drilling equipment, including their capabilities, limitations, and drill setup and design processes

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level, in confined space and remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse

The wage range for Traveling Directional Drill Operator is $24.00 - $35.00.
