Job summary

TelCom Construction, LLC in Omaha, NE is seeking a Directional Drill Operator (14996) to operate drill equipment for underground telecom installations. A valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement is required, along with minimum age of 18 and legal work status in the United States.

You will determine bore paths, locate utilities, manage a bore schedule, and maintain equipment in all weather. This role is hands-on field work with opportunities for growth in our operations production team.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement.
• Experience with drilling equipment and set-up processes.
• Authorized to work in the United States for this company.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine bore path and locate utilities.
• Safely operate and control all necessary equipment to complete assigned tasks.
• Verify utilities by potholing to determine bore path.
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule.
• Responsible for site setup, cleanup, and equipment maintenance.
• Perform work in all weather conditions.

What you'll do

• Determine bore path and locate utilities
• Safely operate and control all necessary equipment to complete assigned tasks
• Verify existing utilities by potholing to determine bore path
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule
• Responsible for site set-up, clean-up, and equipment maintenance
• Perform work in all weather conditions
• Other duties as assigned

What you'll need

• Valid Class A Commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement
• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Experience with drilling equipment, including their capabilities, limitations, and drill setup and design processes

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level, in confined space and remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse
