Job summary

The Arc of San Diego is seeking Direct Support Substitutes to help adults with disabilities in a day center setting. You will fill in for scheduled staff when unavailable, assist with life skills, and lead activities in a supportive environment.

Hours vary. Pay ranges from $20.00 to $20.65 per hour. The ideal candidate is compassionate, a strong communicator, organized, and bilingual in English and Spanish.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six (6) months of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Supporting clients in learning life, social, and personal care skills.
• Assisting with daily needs, including feeding, toileting, and mobility.
• Leading engaging group and individual activities.
• Documenting progress and ensuring accurate case records.

About the Role:

Example: someone is out sick or someone is on vacation.
