Job summary

Elizabeth Richardson Center in Springdale, AR seeks a Direct Support Professional to foster a secure, positive environment for adults with developmental disabilities. You’ll deliver life skills, pre-vocational and personal care services under supervision, supporting daily Life Skills activities.

You will document progress and maintain program records, ensuring safety, dignity, and compliance with policies. The role requires teamwork, reliability, and strong communication across staff and clients.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively with consumers, clients, and staff.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write detailed reports and correspondences.
• Attention to detail – adhering to specific protocols and rules while following instructions.
• Interpersonal skills when working with clients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Train and/or assist clients in activities of daily living including feeding, toileting, cleaning themselves, cleaning the environment.
• Inform and monitor clients’ progress toward goals and objectives per individual program plans.
• Maintain clients’ rights and safety with dignity and respect per ERC policies and guidelines.
• Provide direct personal care to adults with developmental disabilities.
• Document daily goals, attendance, and documentation in Therap daily.
• Submit required reports to supervisors per state/federal guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness of work and break areas.
