Job summary

Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work closely with individuals we support, helping them achieve personal outcomes and develop daily living, professional, and decision-making skills.

Strong written and spoken English are required to complete trainings, follow support plans, and document care with accuracy. The role involves advocating for clients, teaching life skills, promoting health and safety, and coordinating with the care

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience performing related job duties preferred.
• Not required, training will be provided upon hire as needed.
• Functional proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Proficient computer skills preferred.
• Proficient writing skills with grasp of basic grammar and spelling.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with flexibility, keeping others informed and anticipating needs is essential.
• Must be efficient, well organized, and have excellent communication skills.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Valid Driver’s License and satisfy criteria to be a driver for the agency required.

Responsibilities

• Advocates with the people we support in a variety of situations.
• Teaches new life skills to the people we support.
• Promotes health and safety for the people we support.
• Helps establish and maintain relationships and valued social roles.
• Develops service plans with the interdisciplinary team to aid personal goals.
• Provides positive behavior support as necessary.
• Prevents, recognizes and reports abuse toward the people we support.
• Documents service provision and daily notes accurately.
• Promotes community involvement for the people we support.
• Transports clients to appointments or outings using a motor vehicle.
