Job summary

Hope Residential Academy in Melrose Park, IL seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for full-time, all shifts. The Habilitation Specialist serves residents with disabilities, supporting daily living needs and organizational operations.

The position offers two weeks of paid classroom training, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities to make a meaningful impact on children's development and independence.

Qualifications

• Must have experience working in a direct care environment.
• Position requires a valid IL driver's license or ability to qualify as a DCFS driver.
• Successful background clearance, physical, agility test, and drug/alcohol screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision, program implementation and documentation for daily living needs and routines for assigned children.
• Assist children with activities of daily living (eating, dressing, feeding, toileting, personal hygiene).
• Engage children in activities aligned with Individual Support Plans to maximize independence.
• Maintain a valid IL driver's license and provide DCFS approved transportation for medical appointments and field trips.
• Support residential operations through mandatory overtime shifts as needed.
