GIL Foundation Inc. is hiring Direct Service Support Workers in Prospect, CT. Positions include part-time and full-time evening shifts with pay from $19.55/hour to $20.55/hour.

The DSP will support adults with disabilities in home and community settings, providing personal care, daily living assistance, and community activities. Training is provided; benefits include health coverage, time off, and retirement plan options. Locations include Prospect and nearby areas, with overtime opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Providing consistent care and assistance for individuals with disabilities living in their own homes - often shared with other residents.
• Providing personal care and support including bathing, dressing, and full assistance with personal hygiene.
• Providing support and assistance including general housekeeping, laundry, cleaning, and simple household maintenance.
• Assisting individuals with daily living skills and activities such as banking, recreation, shopping, and tasks.
• Providing monitoring and support for safety, following care plans and attending doctor visits.
• Assisting with transportation and community participation as needed.
• Reading and understanding English to follow guidelines and complete documentation.
• Participating in training and meetings to maintain competencies and compliance.
• Ensuring safety and privacy of individuals and their belongings.
