Job summary

Lutheran Social Services of Illinois is hiring a full-time Direct Support Person to assist individuals with self-care, hygiene, meals, housekeeping, socialization and recreation. The role also involves collecting, recording, and filing data as required.

Schedule includes 3 days per week with some weekends and holidays. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare, PTO, holidays, sick time, a 403(b) plan, EAP, flexible hours, and paid training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check clearance required.
• CPR and First Aid basics required.
• Must pass the TABE test.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be available to work all shifts, including overnights and weekends.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• Valid IL drivers license in good standing required.
• Access to reliable transportation required.
• Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, implement, and document individual personal goals and behavior programs.
• Participate in the development of individual Service Plan via the daily log, programming suggestions, and staffing.
• Provide transportation to the person(s) served as part of community integration.
• Maintain regular and consistent work attendance.
• As a representative of LSSI, interact with clients, families and coworkers with dignity and respect.
