Job summary

Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals to join our team at the Pemberton program in New Jersey. DSPs support individuals with developmental disabilities, helping with daily living activities and community participation under supervision. No experience is required as paid training is provided.

The shift is Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 12 a.m. to 8 a.m. The pay rate is $19.13 per hour, with an Enhanced Pay Option up to $17.61 per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Verifiable high school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license required.
• 1 year experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
• Dual Diagnosis experience preferred.
• NADD DSP Certification training within first year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities and community integration.
• Support with housekeeping, laundry, and daily routines under supervision of House Manager.
• Provide mentoring and coaching to help individuals achieve goals.

Be a part of fostering a true sense of pride in your individual by teaching them to navigate daily living activities, such as housekeeping and laundry. Your work is performed in accordance with appropriate procedures under the supervision of the House Manager who reviews results through living area observation of activities in progress, residents’ responsiveness, inspection of living area, reports, and periodic meetings. Make a difference in the life of those you work with to enhance their independence by assisting with daily and personal activities.
