Job summary

Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals for our program in Trenton, NJ. No experience required; paid training provided. The role involves supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and helping them achieve daily living goals under supervision.

We offer a pay rate of $19.13/hr or $21.13/hr with Enhanced Pay. Applicants must be 21+, have a valid driver’s license, and be committed to fostering independence and community integration.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must have a verifiable High School diploma/G.E.D.
• 1 year experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
• NADD DSP Certification training within first year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities, including housekeeping and laundry.
• Encourage, mentor, and coach individuals to achieve their goals.
• Work under the supervision of the House Manager and report on progress.

Our ideal DSP candidatewill have a strong desire to create long-term impacts on their individuals lives and enjoy encouraging, mentoring, and coaching others to achieve their goals. Be a part of fostering a true sense of pride in your individual by teaching them to navigate daily living activities, such as housekeeping and laundry. Your work is performed in accordance with appropriate procedures under the supervision of the House Manager who reviews results through living area observation of activities in progress, residents’ responsiveness, inspection of living area, reports, and periodic meetings. Make a difference in the life of those you work with to enhance their independence by assisting with daily and personal activities.
