Job summary

Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) is seeking a Direct Support Professional for the Intensive Behavior Center in Boulder, MT. This full-time position offers shifts and a possible $7,500 sign-on incentive and a chance to support individuals with developmental and behavioral needs.

The DSP will provide routine emotional and physical care, transport clients to activities, and document their participation while maintaining a therapeutic environment within a 12-bed

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of developmental, behavioral, and psychiatric disorders.
• Knowledge of practices and methods for providing care.
• Ability to make observations and report information accurately.
• Ability to handle high stress situations.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred one year of experience providing care to individuals with developmental, behavioral, or psychiatric disorders.
• Experience/knowledge of techniques and responsibilities surrounding the use of physical restraint and methods to avoid such use.

Responsibilities

• Provide clients with routine emotional and physical care.
• Transporting clients to treatments, vocational, and recreational activities.
• Documenting clients’ interaction and participation with activities.
