Job summary

Advancing Opportunities (AO) in Missouri seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide compassionate, person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential and community settings.

The DSP helps with ADLs, health, safety, documentation, transportation, and community participation, following ISPs and BSPs, working with a multidisciplinary team to promote independence and dignity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Minimum twenty-one (21) years of age.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Ability to read, write, and document effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Provides compassionate, person-centered support to individuals with IDD in residential/community settings.
• Assists with ADLs including hygiene, grooming, meal planning, housekeeping and budgeting.
• Promotes health, safety, and wellness plans; administers medications per state regulations.
• Facilitates ISPs, IHPs, and BSPs; teaches life and community participation skills.
• Supports transportation to appointments, day programs, and community activities.
